Banks Academy in the East Lake/Roebuck community is for 6th-12th grades. We provide a great education, working to develop a better Birmingham through our graduates. Each family must also pay part of the tuition costs, thereby having an investment in their child’s future. With your support, Banks Academy can help restore education to the area, prepare graduates to have meaningful participation in our community, and develop followers of Jesus Christ.

We opened in August 2015 in the old Lakewood Baptist Church location. In 1957, the original Banks High School began with a 9th-grade class only, which is how we began also. We are now located at Huffman Baptist Church at 700 Huffman Road as a 501(c)3 Non-profit private Christian School. 

We need Volunteers for:

• Tutors for after school (2:00-5:00 and on Wednesdays 12:00-5:00)
• Fundraising Events Helpers (annual banquet, ambassadors for the school)
• Monthly Donor Lunches Once a Month (We need lunch provided the 3rd or 4th Friday of every month)
• Mentoring of students, various schedules
• Teachers aids
